The Gülen Institute provides scholarships for graduate students working in the fields of social work, social sciences and humanities. At present, the scholarships are limited to the students of the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston.

In 2008-2009 academic year, three masters students received the institute scholarship. The recipients of the scholarship participate in social science research studies, in field work or in the analysis and preparation of research results for publication.

The Gülen Institute was established in October 2007 as a non-profit organization and a joint initiative of the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and the Institute of Interfaith Dialog.

The perspectives of the institute are inspired by the life and works of the distinguished contemporary scholar and civic leader Fethullah Gülen. Visit Fethullah Gulen Forum for updates on Mr. Gulen and Gulen Movement.
